What Bharat Taxi Is - India’s first cooperative-led ride-hailing platform, registered under the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act, 2002. - Established on 6 June 2025 by eight national cooperative institutions, and officially launched on 5 February 2026. - Operates on a zero-commission model, with profits directly shared among drivers—called Sarathis. Cooperative Model - Transition from “driver-partner” to “Sarathi-owner” model. - Sarathis have representation in the Board of Management and participate in profit-sharing. - Transparent fare structure, multilingual app interface, real-time tracking, and 24/7 customer support. Women-Centric Initiative - Launch of “Sarthi Didi”, encouraging women drivers and offering women passengers the option to book women-driven taxis. - Safety features include SOS, live location tracking, and dedicated support. Current Operations - Functional in Delhi NCR (Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad) and parts of Gujarat (Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Somnath, Dwarka). - Expansion planned in phases to Tier‑2 and Tier‑3 cities, reaching tehsil levels over the next three years.
