The upcoming Bharat Tribes Fest 2026 at Sunder Nursery, New Delhi (18–30 March) is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious celebrations of tribal heritage in India. Inauguration: By Shri Jual Oram, Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, with Shri Durgadas Uikey, Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, on 18 March. Scale: - 200 curated stalls from 78 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras (VDVKs) - 310 master artisans showcasing crafts - 120 tribal cuisine participants under the “Forest-to-Plate” movement - 17 live craft demonstrations - 400+ artists performing traditional dances and music every evening Timings: Daily from 11:00 AM – 08:00 PM, open to the public. Business & Policy Engagement - Bharat Tribes Business Conclave (19–27 March): Focus on sustainable textiles, tribal food systems, ethical luxury markets, and skilling for youth and women. - CSR Conclave (24 March): Designed to connect corporate institutions with tribal entrepreneurs, fostering long-term partnerships. RISA Initiative Renowned designers like Anju Modi, Manish Tripathi, Gaurav Jai Gupta, Sandeep Khosla, and Sameera Dalvi will collaborate with tribal artisans. They’ll integrate indigenous textiles such as Eri Silk, Kotpad Cotton, and Dongria Embroidery into contemporary fashion, bridging tribal traditions with global design. Purpose The fest aims to: - Promote creativity, sustainability, and entrepreneurship among tribal communities. - Provide market visibility and opportunities for artisans. - Celebrate India’s tribal diversity through immersive cultural experiences.
