THAI Welcomes Its First Airbus A321neo, Strengthening Fleet Capabilities to Support Growth in the Asia-Pacific Region

On 25 December 2025, Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) held a welcoming ceremony for its Airbus A321neo aircraft, registration HS-TOA, bestowed with the royal name “Bowonrangsi,” at Suvarnabhumi Airport, following its delivery flight from the Airbus Delivery Center in Hamburg, Germany.

Delivery & Ceremony
- On 25 December 2025, THAI welcomed its first Airbus A321neo (registration HS-TOA, named Bowonrangsi) at Suvarnabhumi Airport after delivery from Hamburg, Germany.
- The event was attended by THAI’s Chairman, board members, CEO Chai Eamsiri, and distinguished guests.

Strategic Importance
- This is the first of 32 A321neo aircraft to be delivered, with the initial 10 entering service under operating lease agreements with AerCap, a leading aircraft lessor.
- CEO Chai Eamsiri emphasized that the A321neo strengthens THAI’s fleet capabilities and network strategy, supporting growth in the Asia-Pacific market.

Sustainability & Technology
- Powered by CFM LEAP-1A engines, the aircraft offers:
- 20% lower CO₂ emissions per seat
- Quieter operations
- Certification to operate with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)

Cabin Features
- 175 seats total:
- 16 Royal Silk Class (Business) with fully flat 180° recline beds
- 159 Economy Class with ergonomic design and adjustable headrests
- Enhanced passenger experience:
- 4K touchscreens with Bluetooth connectivity
- Airspace XL bins (40% more storage)
- Mood lighting & Welcome Ceiling for a pleasant atmosphere

Service Launch
- The A321neo will begin commercial service on 22 January 2026, debuting on the Bangkok–Singapore–Bangkok route.
