Passing - Donna Rae Garff Marriott, wife of J.W. “Bill” Marriott, Jr., Chairman Emeritus of Marriott International, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025, at the age of 90, surrounded by loved ones. - The couple had recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Family & Personal Life - Born June 10, 1935, in Evanston, Illinois, and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, Donna developed a love for music and dance before attending the University of Utah. - Married Bill Marriott in 1955, building a life centered on family, faith, and service. - Together they raised four children: Debbie, Stephen (deceased), John, and David. - Known for her warmth, traditions, and devotion to family gatherings, especially holidays filled with handmade needlepoint stockings and ornaments. Faith & Service - A dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in leadership roles such as Primary President and Relief Society Counselor. - Chaired the American Heart Association’s Heart Luncheon in Washington, D.C., one of the organization’s largest fundraisers.
