Network Expansion - Current destinations: Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Trivandrum, Madurai, and Tiruchirappalli. - Ahmedabad will soon join as the 10th Indian destination, making SriLankan present in six of India’s eight major metropolitan hubs. - These initiatives are expected to boost Indian passenger traffic by up to 12% this year. Seamless Connections - Around 30% of Indian passengers transit via Colombo, connecting to the Middle East, Maldives, Far East, Europe, and Australia. - Codeshare partnerships expand reach to 120 destinations in 61 countries. Tourism & Promotion - Works closely with Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau and other partners to position Sri Lanka as a vibrant destination. - Highlights include festivals, cuisine, wellness, beaches, wildlife, history, and spirituality. - Recently launched the Ramayana Trail campaign, inviting Indian travelers to explore legendary sites tied to the epic. Booking Channels - About 60% of Indian bookings are made through indirect channels (travel agents, OTAs). - The rest are booked directly via SriLankan Airlines’ platforms, with ongoing investment in digital capabilities. Fleet & Alliance - Operates an all-Airbus fleet (A330-200/300 and A320/321). - Member of the oneworld alliance, offering global connectivity with strong service and safety reputation. This expansion underscores SriLankan Airlines’ strategy to deepen cultural and economic ties with India, while positioning Colombo as a regional hub for onward travel.
