Mo is a mushroom on a mission. As the latest in a long line of Planetary Wellbeing pioneers at Four Seasons Resorts Maldives he is – in his own words – “tired of being kept in the dark.” Character: Mo, an oyster mushroom, humorously introduced as the Official Spokesmushroom. Mission: To highlight the resort’s Planetary Wellbeing initiatives, which often go unnoticed despite being practiced for decades. Companions: - United Featheration: 150 chickens, ducks, and quail. - Garden Gang: 100 varieties of herbs, vegetables, fruits. - Orchid Crew: 8,000 orchids (with only 500 on duty at a time). Sustainability in Action - Zero-Mile Champions: - Mushrooms and produce travel just 200–400 metres by bicycle to on-site restaurants. - Around 5 kg of mushrooms daily are used in soups, salads, mains, desserts, and drinks. - Circular Practices: Compost Club ensures regeneration and waste reduction. Culinary Showcase Signature dishes at Blu Beach Club include: - Landaa Happy Egg with pumpkin cream, seeds, seaweed. - White Snapper Carpaccio with Kulafilha leaf, melon, passion fruit. - Slow-Cooked Rainbow Runner with cauliflower, dill, roasted lemon. Why It Matters - Reinforces Four Seasons Maldives’ commitment to sustainability and local sourcing. - Blends humor and storytelling (via Mo) with serious eco-conscious practices. - Highlights how food, flora, and fauna are integral to the resort’s wellbeing philosophy. 📌 In short: Mo the mushroom is a playful mascot for Four Seasons Maldives’ eco-friendly initiatives, shining a spotlight on the resort’s dedication to sustainability, local produce, and creative guest experiences.
