Qantas and Australia Post extend historic partnership freight operations begin at Western Sydney International Airport (WSI)

Qantas and Australia Post have extended their 100 year air freight partnership for a further 10 years, to support the growing demand for next-day delivery of e-commerce across Australia.

Partnership Extension
- The two companies have extended their 100‑year air freight partnership for another 10 years.
- Supports the surging demand for next‑day e‑commerce deliveries across Australia.
- Under the contract, Qantas Freight will help deliver over 75 million tonnes of parcels and cargo annually, with volumes expected to grow.

Launch at WSI
- First commercial freight flight: QF7340, departed WSI at 10:25 pm for Brisbane carrying Australia Post parcels.
- The new 24/7 cargo terminal spans 24,000 sqm.
- Expected throughput: 160,000 parcels in the first 24 hours, with 12 overnight arrivals.
- Weekly capacity: 850 tonnes of freight.
- Domestic routes: Melbourne, Cairns, Adelaide, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Perth + regional centres.
- International flights to begin early next year.

Fleet & Network
- Dedicated fleet: 2 A330 freighters + 6 A321 freighters (3 more coming).
- Priority cargo space on 300+ Qantas passenger aircraft.
- Freight network covers 110 destinations worldwide.
