Air India, India’s leading global airline, and Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand strategic cooperation between the two airlines.

Purpose:
Strengthen connectivity between India and Saudi Arabia, supporting rising travel demand.

- Loyalty program collaboration
Future Scope:
Possible extension to group airlines — flyadeal (Saudia) and Air India Express.

Context
Since privatization in 2022, Air India has expanded to 25 codeshare partnerships and 120+ interline agreements, giving access to 1,000+ destinations worldwide.
This MoU is essentially a framework for deeper integration — not just sharing flights, but potentially aligning operations, loyalty programs, and even airport facilities. That could mean smoother connections, more route options, and shared benefits for frequent flyers.
