Windstar Cruises has just announced the full transformation of Wind Star, the yacht that pioneered modern sailing cruises. Dining Venues: - Amphora restaurant redesigned with new flooring, wall finishes, and custom seating. - Veranda refreshed with a new buffet layout for a more seamless dining experience. Staterooms: New upholstered headboards, integrated lighting, bedside charging, plus earlier upgrades like Starlink connectivity, on-demand TVs, and a redesigned Owner’s Suite. Public Spaces: Lobby, Compass Rose Lounge, Yacht Club Café, pool deck, World Spa, and fitness center all modernized. Finishing Touches: Commissioned artwork, enhanced lighting, audio systems, teak decking, and refined design details to reinforce Windstar’s “home at sea” feel. Where Wind Star Will Sail - Mediterranean (Spring 2026): First post-refurbishment voyage from Lisbon to Barcelona, followed by sailings through June. - Greek Isles (Summer–Fall 2026): 7-night roundtrip voyages from Athens, docking close to city centers. - Tahiti (2027 onward): Wind Star joins Star Breeze for year-round Tahiti sailings, including the popular Dreams of Tahiti itinerary. Fleet Evolution - Wind Star is the first Wind Class yacht to complete both refurbishment phases. - Wind Surf will finish Phase 2 in December 2026, followed by Wind Spirit in March 2027. - This ensures the entire Wind Class fleet reflects Windstar’s modern yacht aesthetic while preserving its timeless character. Legacy & Future Celebrating its 40th anniversary, Wind Star’s transformation honors its pioneering role in yacht-style cruising while preparing it for a new generation of travelers. Windstar continues to expand, with the debut of Star Explorer in December 2026, bringing the fleet to eight yachts sailing to over 330 ports worldwide.
