Next Steps - The Aerodrome Security Programme (ASP) is under review by BCAS; approval is awaited before commercial operations can begin. - Preparations continue under the Operational Readiness Activation and Transition (ORAT) programme to ensure systems, processes, and staff are fully ready. - Formal inauguration and airline schedules will be announced once the ASP approval is granted. Airline & Cargo Operations - IndiGo, Akasa Air, and Air India Express have confirmed operations from NIA. - Discussions with other domestic and international carriers are ongoing. - Cargo operators are in advanced talks, with strong demand expected from the region. Connectivity & Infrastructure - Direct access via the six-lane Yamuna Expressway, linking Noida, Greater Noida, Delhi, Gurugram, and western Uttar Pradesh. - Tourist destinations like Agra, Mathura, and Vrindavan are reachable within two hours. - Phase 1: 1 runway, 1 terminal, capacity for 12 million passengers annually. - Phase 4: Expansion to handle 70 million passengers annually, positioning NIA as a major hub.
