Temporary Closure of Parking Facility and Entrances at Chennai Egmore Metro Station
Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) hereby informs passengers that, due to the ongoing construction works of Egmore Railway Station by Southern Railway near Egmore Metro Station, the parking facility at Egmore Metro Station will be fully suspended from 09.03.2026 until further notice. Passengers are requested to use the parking facilities available at nearby Metro stations. Egmore Metro Station – Passenger Advisory - Parking facility: Fully suspended from 9 March 2026 until further notice. - Entrances closed: All entries within the construction zone. - Entrances open: Only Entry B1 and Entry B2 (Poonamallee High Road side) remain accessible for entry and exit. - Reason: Ongoing construction works at Egmore Railway Station by Southern Railway. - Support: Adequate signage and station staff will guide passengers. Impact & Alternatives - Passengers should use parking facilities at nearby Metro stations. - Plan ahead for entry/exit adjustments at Egmore Metro. - Train services continue as usual; only parking and certain entrances are affected. CMRL emphasizes that this arrangement is temporary, made for passenger safety and to ensure smooth progress of construction.
