Marriott Announces Significant Growth and Strategic Expansion in the Caribbean and Latin America in 2025

Marriott International, Inc. announced an outstanding year of growth in its Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) region in 2025.

Strategic Growth Highlights
- Record Signings: 94 deals signed, adding 10,461 rooms to the pipeline — a 40% increase in transactions vs. 2024.
- New Openings: 39 properties with 4,292 rooms, bringing Marriott’s CALA footprint to 555 open hotels and over 95,000 rooms across 37 countries.
- Conversions: Nearly 30 properties (3,000 rooms) signed via conversions, showing Marriott’s agility in rebranding existing assets.

Luxury & All-Inclusive Expansion
- Luxury Portfolio: 71 open properties + 38 pipeline hotels (18,000+ rooms).
- Key Openings:
- Nekajui, Ritz-Carlton Reserve (Costa Rica)
- Siari, Ritz-Carlton Reserve (Mexico)
- Future Projects:
- Cotton Bay, Ritz-Carlton Reserve (Bahamas, 2029)
- Bvlgari Resort & Residences, Cave, Exuma (Bahamas, 2029)
- All-Inclusive Growth:
- Paraiso de la Bonita, Luxury Collection (Riviera Maya)

Midscale Segment Momentum
- City Express by Marriott: 28 deals signed (3,188 rooms).
- Expansion into 7 new markets: Argentina, Brazil, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guyana, Mexico, Puerto Rico.
- Brazil focus: 13 deals signed (1,400+ rooms), with a 15-year plan to add 30 properties in Northeast Brazil.
- Current footprint: ~150 open hotels (17,700+ rooms) + pipeline of 46 deals (5,200+ rooms).

Brazil as a Growth Engine
- Portfolio: 15 properties (3,779 rooms) across 9 brands.
- Pipeline: 21 properties (4,000 rooms).
- Recent openings: The Westin São Paulo (June 2025).
- Upcoming: Tropical Hotel da Amazônia, Tribute Portfolio (2026).
