Goa and Norway Explore New Avenues for Collaboration in Tech, Tourism and Creative Industries

A high-level delegation from Norway visited Goa for a roundtable hosted by the Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (DITE&C) in collaboration with the Department of Tourism. The discussions focused on strengthening ties in technology, tourism, skilling, and the creative economy.

Leadership Presence:
The roundtable was attended by Hon’ble Minister for IT, Electronics & Communications and Tourism, Shri Rohan A. Khaunte, alongside senior officials from Goa’s startup and IT ecosystem.

Norwegian Delegation:
Included leaders from the Norwegian Cybersecurity Cluster, Smart Farm AS, NICCI, and other organizations specializing in aquaculture, clean energy, and advanced technology.

Areas of Collaboration:
- Technology integration and AI skilling programs
- Creative-tech and design-led innovation
- Sustainable and climate-conscious tourism
- Aquaculture and marine technology projects
- Talent exchange programs and international certifications

Tourism Strategy:
Goa showcased its focus on immersive, sustainable tourism—highlighting heritage, biodiversity, wellness, Ayurveda, and medical tourism as emerging opportunity areas.

Shared Vision:
Both sides emphasized that partnerships should benefit Goans through employment, opportunities, and growth, while aligning with Norway’s strengths in digitization, renewable energy, and aquaculture.
