The Kochi Biennale Foundation (KBF) has kicked off a special pedagogical workshop led by acclaimed Ghanaian artist Ibrahim Mahama, as part of the run-up to the sixth edition of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale (KMB-6) Workshop Highlights - Program: Conducted under KBF’s ABC Art Room initiative, focusing on art education and collaborative creation. - Dates: November 20 – December 5, 2025. - Venue: Anand Warehouse, Bazaar Road, Mattancherry, Kochi. - Theme: Mahama’s installation “Parliament of Ghosts” explores memory, materiality, labour, and collective histories. What Participants Experience - Hands-on involvement in installation-making alongside Mahama. - Activities like repairing and repurposing old chairs sourced from Ghana, symbolizing colonial histories and labour narratives. - Exposure to Mahama’s creative process, including slideshows of his past works and reinterpretations of historical materials. - Dialogues on colonialism, exploitation, commodification, and inequity, with parallels drawn to India.
