In view of the widespread disruptions that travellers across India are currently experiencing, Air India and Air India Express announce a series of proactive measures to help those stranded reach their destinations. Capping of Airfares - Economy-class fares on non-stop domestic flights have been capped since 4 December 2025. - This prevents automated revenue systems from inflating prices during high demand. - Both Air India and Air India Express are ensuring compliance with the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s directive issued on 6 December 2025. Waiver of Change or Cancellation Fees - Special one-time waiver for domestic bookings made until 4 December 2025 for travel until 15 December 2025. - Passengers can reschedule without paying rescheduling fees or cancel with a full refund (if done by 8 December 2025). - Fare differences may apply if rescheduled to a higher-priced flight. Enhanced Customer Support - Additional staff deployed at 24x7 contact centres to handle high call volumes. - Contact numbers: - Air India: +91 11 6932 9333 - Air India Express: +91 124 443 5600 / +91 124 693 5600 - Air India Express also offers support via its chatbot Tia on WhatsApp (+91 63600 12345), website, mobile app, and Facebook Messenger. Maximising Seat Availability - Extra flights are being operated on key routes. - Eligible economy passengers may be upgraded to higher cabins at no extra cost to ensure all seats are utilized. Continued Concessions - Discounts remain available for students, senior citizens, and armed forces personnel. - These fares are even lower than the capped economy fares, ensuring affordability. 👉 In short, Air India Group is focusing on fair pricing, flexibility, and expanded support channels to help stranded travelers reach their destinations smoothly.
