The Global Tourism Economy Forum, an international platform dedicated to promoting the sustainable development of the global tourism economy, will hold its 2025 edition from December 15 to 17 in Harbin, Heilongjiang province.

- Heilongjiang has leveraged its ice and snow tourism appeal to build a diverse ecosystem including winter sports, eco-tourism, and wellness retreats.
- In 2024, the province welcomed 282 million tourist visits (up 29.1% year-on-year) and generated 370.12 billion yuan in tourism spending (up 67.1%).
- International arrivals surged to 1.2 million, with inbound spending reaching 13.44 billion yuan.

Global Significance
- GTEF has been held annually since 2012 in Macao SAR, attracting 14,000+ participants from 90 countries.
- Recognized as the “Davos Forum of the Global Tourism Industry”, it is supported by UN Tourism and included in China’s 14th Five-Year Plan for Tourism Development.
- Heilongjiang 2025 marks the first time the Forum ventures beyond Macao, symbolizing the province’s rising global influence in cultural tourism.
