Thai Airways announces a new baggage policy under the Piece Concept

To enhance the travel experience and elevate service standards in line with leading global airlines, Thai Airways will transition its baggage policy from the Weight Concept to the Piece Concept, which defines baggage allowances based on the number of pieces and class of travel.

Policy Overview
- Transition: Thai Airways is moving from the Weight Concept to the Piece Concept for baggage allowances.
- Effective Dates:
- 25 November 2025: Applies to ticket sales, issuance, and reissuance of unused tickets for travel starting 2 March 2026.
- 28 November 2025: Additional routes across THAI’s global network adopt the new policy.

Baggage Allowance by Travel Class
Domestic (within Thailand)
- Royal Silk Class: 1 piece, up to 32 kg
- Economy Class (Flexi / Full Flex / Standard / Saver): 1 piece, up to 23 kg
- Infant (no seat): 1 piece, same allowance as adult

International
- Royal First Class: 3 pieces, 32 kg each (Redeem tickets: 2 pieces, 32 kg each)
- Royal Silk Class & Redeem: 2 pieces, 32 kg each
- Premium Economy Plus: 2 pieces, 32 kg each
- Premium Economy Class: 2 pieces, 23 kg each
- Economy Class:
- Flex / Full Flex: 2 pieces, 23 kg each
- Standard / Saver / Redeem: 1 piece, 23 kg
- Infant (no seat): 1 piece, same allowance as adult.

Size Requirements
- Each piece must not exceed 158 cm (62 inches) in total linear dimensions.

Routes Covered
- All domestic routes within Thailand.
- Journeys within TC3 (Asia, Australia, New Zealand).
- Journeys between TC2 (Europe, Africa, Middle East) and TC3.
- Additional global routes phased in from November 2025.
