Kenya’s Tourism Highlights Economic Contribution (2025): - $12.7 billion to GDP (9.3% of national GDP). - Supported 1.8 million jobs (8.3% of total employment). Balanced Demand Model: - International visitor spending: $5 billion (52.4%). - Domestic visitor spending: $4.5 billion (47.6%). Visitor Growth: - 2.5 million international arrivals (+5.6% YoY). Trade Surplus: - Net inflow of $3.96 billion from inbound vs outbound travel. Sustainability Leadership: - 19.9% of energy from low-carbon sources (vs global avg 5.9%, Africa avg 2.9%). Africa’s Tourism Growth Economic Contribution (2025): $228 billion (7% of regional GDP). Growth rate: 5%, outpacing wider economy (3.5%) and global average (4.1%). Forecast (2026): $241 billion (+5.4%), making Africa one of the fastest-growing regions alongside Asia-Pacific. Employment: - 30.2 million jobs in 2025. - Expected 31.5 million in 2026. - Projected 40.9 million by 2036 (+9.4 million jobs). International Visitors: - 99.2 million in 2025 (+14.1%). - Spending forecast to reach $80 billion in 2026 (+6.8%).
