India Chairs Inaugural BRICS 2026 Tourism Working Group Meeting
India has officially chaired the inaugural BRICS 2026 Tourism Working Group (TWG) Meeting, held virtually on 25 May 2026 under its BRICS Chairship. Theme: “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability” Priorities under India’s Chairship: - Artificial Intelligence in Tourism - Sustainability & Responsible Tourism - Tourism Skilling & Capacity Building - Tourism Exchanges & Seamless Travel Facilitation Next steps: - 2nd TWG Meeting: 19–20 August 2026 in Jaipur, Rajasthan - BRICS Tourism Ministers’ Meeting (TMM): 21–22 August 2026, also in Jaipur Objective: Strengthen collaboration among BRICS nations, enhance tourism resilience, and promote innovation-driven sustainable growth. This marks the first step in structured BRICS tourism cooperation, positioning India as a convener of global tourism dialogue while showcasing its leadership in sustainable and tech-enabled travel.
