In a significant step towards strengthening India’s global leadership in traditional wellness and natural products, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between AYUSHEXCIL and the Spices Board of India in the presence of Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Union Minister of State (IC), Ministry of Ayush, and Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare. Partnership focus: AYUSHEXCIL and the Spices Board of India signed an MoU to jointly promote Ayush products and medicinal spices globally. “Spice and Heal” initiative: A new branding campaign aimed at positioning India as a global wellness leader, combining Ayurveda with the heritage of Indian spices. Benefits across sectors: Farmers, MSMEs, startups, women entrepreneurs, and exporters will gain from enhanced opportunities in functional foods, nutraceuticals, herbal extracts, and Ayurvedic products. Strategic areas of collaboration: - Quality enhancement & traceability - Scientific validation & innovation - Export promotion & international market development - Joint participation in trade fairs and Codex engagement Government vision alignment: The initiative supports Atmanirbhar Bharat, Vocal for Local, Make in India, and Heal in India, reflecting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s emphasis on traditional knowledge systems. Long-term impact: Expected to drive export growth, employment generation, rural development, and farmer empowerment, while strengthening India’s global reputation in wellness and natural products.
