To facilitate the candidates appearing for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2026 conducted by UPSC this Sunday i.e, 24th May 2026, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will commence train services from all the terminal stations on its Line 7 (Pink Line i.e, from Majlis Park to Shiv Vihar), Line 8 (Magenta Line i.e, from Krishna Park Extn to Botanical Garden and Deepali Chowk to Majlis Park ) and Line 9 (Grey Line i.e, from Dhansa Bus Stand to Dwarka) from 6:00 AM, in sync with other Lines. Date: Sunday, 24 May 2026 (UPSC Civil Services Prelims). Early start: Services on Pink Line (Majlis Park–Shiv Vihar), Magenta Line (Krishna Park Extn–Botanical Garden & Deepali Chowk–Majlis Park), and Grey Line (Dhansa Bus Stand–Dwarka) will begin at 6:00 AM instead of the usual 7:00 AM. Frequency: Trains will run at 15‑minute intervals until 7:00 AM, then follow the normal Sunday timetable. Purpose - This adjustment ensures seamless transit for UPSC candidates to reach exam centres on time. - Other Metro lines already start at 6:00 AM on Sundays, so this aligns all services across the network. Broader Context This is a good example of how urban infrastructure adapts to national priorities. Compare it with aviation: while Europe struggles with regulatory drag, India is not only expanding air connectivity but also ensuring public transport systems support major national events like the Civil Services exam. It’s a subtle but powerful indicator of how mobility is being treated as a backbone of opportunity.
