VFS Global Foundation has inaugurated its first skills training centre in Mumbai — the sixth in India — reaffirming its mission to equip youth from underserved communities with vocational skills for careers in travel, tourism, and retail. Programme Highlights - Certificate Programme for Retail Associates (1 month) - First batch: 30 students enrolled - Training designed by VFS Global Academy, combining career guidance, practical skills, and industry alignment - Delivered by experienced practitioners to ensure sector-ready knowledge Impact & Commitment - Strengthens employability and supports long-term family progress - Aligns with the Government of India’s Skill India initiative - Builds a talent pipeline for retail, travel, and tourism industries - Over 2,800 students trained across academy programmes, university courses, corporate training, and CSR initiatives in recent years Leadership Voices > “Skill development is central to VFS Global Foundation’s mission. The centre was inaugurated by Nirbhik Goel (CHRO, VFS Global), Dr Gayathri Vasudevan (Founder, Sambhav Foundation), and Saugata Roy Chaudhury (Executive Director, CII), alongside senior officials from the academy. This initiative positions VFS Global Foundation as a driver of inclusive growth, while VFS Global Academy continues to expand its footprint in India and internationally.
