Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), through Malaysia Airlines and Firefly, is supporting increased travel demand ahead of the upcoming Hari Raya Aidiladha, Kaamatan and Gawai festive period with subsidised fares on selected East Malaysia routes. Flight Additions - Malaysia Airlines will operate 62 extra flights across high-demand domestic routes: Kota Bharu, Labuan, Tawau, Sandakan, Kuching, Sibu, and Miri. - This expansion is designed to help more Malaysians reunite with family during Hari Raya Aidiladha, Kaamatan, and Gawai. Subsidised Fares - Base fares are capped at RM499 one-way on selected East Malaysia routes, in line with the Government’s festive travel initiative. - Booking window: now until 31 May 2026. - Travel periods: - 26–29 May 2026 → Sabah routes (Kota Kinabalu, Labuan, Sandakan, Tawau). - 28–31 May 2026 → Sarawak routes (Kuching, Miri, Sibu). - Applies to both Malaysia Airlines and Firefly flights. Passenger Benefits - Complimentary checked baggage, in-flight refreshments, and flexible flight change options. - Firefly adds convenience with flights from both KLIA Terminal 1 and Subang Airport. - Flex fares offer unlimited changes, refunds (with conditions), higher baggage allowance, seat selection, and priority boarding.
