United Airlines has announced a major expansion of its summer 2026 schedule, adding new nonstop routes from Newark/New York to several distinctive European destinations: Split, Croatia (SPU): First-ever nonstop service, launching April 30, with three weekly flights to the Dalmatian Coast. Bari, Italy (BRI): Industry’s only nonstop flights to Southern Italy’s gateway to Puglia, starting May 1 with four weekly flights. Glasgow, Scotland (GLA): Daily nonstop service begins May 8, connecting travelers to Scotland’s cultural capital. Santiago de Compostela, Spain (SCQ): First-ever nonstop service to Spain’s historic pilgrimage city, starting May 27 with three weekly flights. Reykjavik, Iceland (KEF): Daily nonstop service from Washington-Dulles begins May 21, the only capital-to-capital route with lie-flat business class seats. Alongside these new routes, United will also resume seasonal services introduced in summer 2025, including destinations like Faro, Madeira, Palermo, Bilbao, Nuuk, and Ulaanbaatar. Altogether, United plans nearly 770 weekly transatlantic roundtrips this summer, serving 36 European destinations, 14 of which no other U.S. carrier offers. This expansion reflects United’s strategy to meet growing demand for unique, culturally rich, and off-the-beaten-path destinations across Europe .
