Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced the appointment of Sh. Sanjay Jamuar as the first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Delhi Metro International Limited (DMIL). DMIL’s mandate: - Handle metro projects and O&M (Operation & Maintenance) assignments outside Delhi and abroad. - Provide advisory services to authorities and lenders for developing and improving metro and transit systems. - Leverage DMRC’s expertise, which has already supported metro development in multiple Indian cities. About Sanjay Jamuar: - Former IRTS officer with extensive experience across Indian Railways, DMRC, and internationally (UK, USA, France, Middle East, Europe). - Holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Strategic Leadership from Warwick Business School, UK. - Conducted research in Transport Economics at Leeds University. - Joined DMRC in 1998 as its first O&M employee, making this appointment a “homecoming.” DMRC’s global footprint: - Consultant for the Dhaka Metro project in Bangladesh. - O&M contracts for Chennai, Mumbai, and Patna Metro projects. - Construction work for metro projects in Mumbai, Jaipur, and Patna. - DMIL is expected to further expand DMRC’s reach internationally. This appointment signals DMRC’s intent to position DMIL as a global player in metro consultancy and operations, building on decades of expertise.
