LOT Polish Airlines is marking a milestone: the 10th anniversary of its Warsaw–Cluj-Napoca route. Route growth - Launched in 2016 with 4 weekly flights, now expanded to up to 9 flights per week in the 2026 summer schedule. - Over the decade, LOT has operated 4,671 flights, totaling 5,370 hours in the air, and carried 270,000+ passengers. Romanian network - LOT now connects Warsaw to three Romanian cities: Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, and Oradea (added in 2024). - Cluj-Napoca Airport, the largest in Transylvania, is just 9 km from the city center, making it a strategic hub. Cluj-Napoca appeal - Known as the cultural and academic capital of Transylvania, with vibrant festivals, historic Piața Unirii square, and St. Michael’s Church. - Also a major IT and outsourcing hub, often called “Romania’s Silicon Valley.” Fleet & strategy - The route is operated with modern Embraer aircraft, offering comfort and seamless connections via Warsaw. - LOT emphasizes Romania’s importance in its Central and Eastern Europe growth strategy, alongside its long-haul Dreamliner services to the US, Canada, India, Japan, and South Korea.
