Akasa Air expands network capacity by 22%, strengthening connectivity across domestic and international markets

Akasa Air’s Summer 2026 schedule marks a bold step in its growth trajectory, with a 22% year-on-year increase in departures and a 37% rise in Available Seat Kilometres (ASKm) compared to Summer 2025. This expansion underscores the airline’s disciplined approach to capacity deployment and its ambition to be a major force in Indian aviation.

Key Highlights
- Delhi: Departures up 50% YoY, with enhanced Delhi–Mumbai connectivity (5x daily).
- Kolkata: Departures up 22% YoY, new Navi Mumbai–Kolkata route, solidifying Kolkata as an eastern gateway.
- Navi Mumbai: Strengthened presence with new Lucknow (2x daily) and Varanasi (2x daily) routes.
- Bengaluru: Expanded links to Darbhanga and Bhubaneswar, reinforcing south–east connectivity.
- International: Increased flights to Gulf destinations (Jeddah, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh) to meet strong demand.

Strategic Vision
Co-founder Anand Srinivasan emphasized that demand is now driven by emerging and regional markets, not just metro corridors. Akasa’s calibrated expansion aims to balance major hubs with regional access, ensuring scalability and sustainability.
