'Hong Kong Mega 8' Showcases the City's Allure as the 'Events Capital of Asia'

Riding on the wave of a spectacular line‑up of mega events throughout March and April, the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) rolled out the “Hong Kong Mega 8” campaign.

Campaign Overview
- The Hong Kong Mega 8 brings together eight world-class mega events across arts, pop culture, sports, and citywide programmes.
- Positions Hong Kong as the “Events Capital of Asia”, inviting global visitors to experience its vibrant cultural scene.
- First-ever collaboration with Art Basel Hong Kong, extending digital art into public neighbourhoods.

Art & Culture Highlights
- Art Basel Hong Kong 2026 (27–29 Mar) – Global showcase of established and emerging artists.
- Art Central 2026 (25–29 Mar) – Contemporary art fair at Central Harbourfront.
- Digital Art @Central (24–29 Mar) – DeeKay’s DeePle the People projected nightly on the Hong Kong Club Building façade.
- Art Walk in Central (21 Mar–4 Apr) – Guided tours, performance-led walks, and Ayako Rokkaku’s interactive installation at LANDMARK Atrium.
- ArtHouse Tai Hang (21–25 Mar) – 10 historic houses transformed into pop-up art and dining hubs.

Museum & District Events
- M+ Museum:
- Lee Bul: From 1998 to Now (until 9 Aug 2026).
- Zao Wou-Ki: Master Printmaker (until 3 May 2026).
- Hong Kong Palace Museum: Heavenly Horses: Masterpieces from the Palace Museum (20 Mar 2026–17 Mar 2027).
- WestK FunFest (19 Mar–12 Apr) – 120+ family-friendly arts and cultural experiences, including the Asian debut of The Cats that Slept for a Thousand Years.

Visitor Experience
- HKTB launched the Hong Kong Art Month Discovery Guide – a digital one-stop resource for events, exhibitions, dining, and cultural itineraries.
- Aim: Enhance visitor convenience, encourage longer stays, and maximize economic benefits for local travel trade and businesses.

Significance
This campaign not only showcases Hong Kong’s diverse cultural vibrancy but also integrates public art, neighbourhood experiences, and global partnerships, reinforcing its reputation as a hub for mega events and cultural tourism.
