Lufthansa has officially received certification for its new Allegris Business Class seats on the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. Out of the 28 seats in this cabin, 25 are now certified and available for passengers. The first flight featuring these seats took off from Frankfurt to Toronto on March 15, 2026, aboard the aircraft registered as D-ABPM “Potsdam.” Routes: Currently flying to Rio de Janeiro, Bogotá, Austin, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Toronto. From March 29, destinations expand to Cape Town, Shanghai, Hyderabad, and Hong Kong. By summer, New York JFK, Los Angeles, and Delhi will also be added. Seat Options: - Classic Seat (free reservation) - Business Class Suite (extra privacy and comfort) - Extra Space Seat (more legroom) - Privacy Seat (window-side isolation) - Extra Long Bed (2.20m reclining surface) Availability: Last-minute bookings for these seats are open for flights departing from March 18, 2026. Fleet Expansion: Lufthansa currently operates nine 787-9s with Allegris seats, aiming for a total of 29 Dreamliners by 2027. This certification marks a big step in Lufthansa’s premium travel offering, giving passengers more flexibility and comfort options when booking long-haul flights.
