The Indian Culinary Forum (ICF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Youth Chefs Club of Ceylon, Sri Lanka, during the recently concluded Culinary Art India 2026 held alongside AAHAR – The International Food & Hospitality Fair 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Partnership goal: Strengthen international culinary ties, promote skill and knowledge exchange, and create opportunities for young chefs from both countries. MoU signatories: Chef Vivek Saggar (General Secretary, ICF) and Chef Chamodh Peiris (Founder & Chairperson, Youth Chefs Club of Ceylon). Leadership voices: - Chef Davinder Kumar (President, ICF) emphasized the commitment to fostering global culinary relationships and opportunities for young professionals. - Chef Chamodh Peiris highlighted the importance of cultural understanding and professional development through this collaboration. Activities planned: Culinary competitions, training programs, workshops, and cultural exchanges to expose young chefs to diverse gastronomic traditions. ICF background: Established in 1987, affiliated with the World Association of Cooks Societies (WACS), representing over 9 million chefs worldwide. This MoU is a significant step in positioning India and Sri Lanka as collaborative partners in the global culinary community, nurturing the next generation of chefs through shared learning and cultural exchange.
