Latest Cathay Pacific fuel surcharge updates as of 14 January 2026

A fuel surcharge is included on all Cathay Pacific tickets. The surcharge is on a per flight sector basis irrespective of fare type. It is included in the fare quoted on all our direct channels.

General Policy
- A fuel surcharge applies to all Cathay Pacific tickets.
- Charged per flight sector, regardless of fare type.
- Included in the fare quoted on Cathay’s direct channels.
- Adjusted monthly based on fuel prices.
- Calculated in USD, except for tickets purchased in Hong Kong, Canada, and New Zealand (local currency).

- Hong Kong ↔ SW Pacific, N. America, Europe, Middle East, Africa: Canada: CAD 101, NZ: NZD 127, HK: HKD 569, Others: USD 72.90
- Journeys originating Japan (long-haul): JPY 15,500
- Hong Kong ↔ South Asia Sub-Continent: Canada: CAD 47, NZ: NZD 59, HK: HKD 264, Others: USD 33.80
- Journeys originating Japan (South Asia): JPY 7,500
- Other flights (general): Canada: CAD 25.30, NZ: NZD 32, HK: HKD 142, Others: USD 18.20
- Japan ↔ HK/Taipei: JPY 8,000
- Japan (other sectors): JPY 4,000
- Chinese Mainland ↔ HK: CNY 135 / HKD 165

Exemptions
Fuel surcharge does not apply to:
- Codeshare ferry/coach services to/from Hong Kong.
- Journeys originating in Bangladesh (tickets purchased there).
- Cathay Pacific marketing flights within Japan.
- Codeshare flights (subject to partner surcharges).

This update is published under guidance from Hong Kong’s Civil Aviation Department and will remain valid until superseded.
