Malaysia Airlines and Firefly strengthen festive connectivity with expanded capacity and subsidised fares to carry Malaysians home during the Chinese New Year peak travel period Flight Operations - MAG will operate more than 2,400 flights during the festive travel window. - This includes 198 additional services by Malaysia Airlines and Firefly to meet peak demand. Travel Period - The festive schedule runs from 11 to 23 February 2026. - Malaysia Airlines: up to 1,498 flights, with 130 extra services. - Firefly: up to 962 flights, with 68 extra services. Key Routes - Focus on domestic homecoming routes between Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia (Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, Sandakan, Kuching, Miri, Sibu, Bintulu, Labuan). - Strengthened connectivity ensures Malaysians can reunite with families during the holiday. Subsidised Fares - In partnership with the Malaysian Government, subsidised one-way fares are offered from 13–16 February 2026. - Malaysia Airlines: fares up to RM569 from Kuala Lumpur to East Malaysia destinations. - Firefly: fares up to RM548 for similar routes. Additional Promotions - The Global New Year campaign runs until 20 January 2026, with return fares from RM159 and extra discounts for Enrich members. Passenger Experience - Complimentary checked baggage, in-flight refreshments, flexible flight change options. - Firefly flights operate from both KLIA Terminal 1 and Subang Airport, while Malaysia Airlines offers through-checked baggage and included meals. This expansion highlights MAG’s role as a trusted connector for Malaysians during one of the busiest travel seasons of the year.
