The Ministry of Railways’ Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Amazon to strengthen collaboration in logistics, transportation, and research. Amazon Chair Professorship: A dedicated Amazon Chair Professorship will be set up at GSV to promote data-driven research in warehousing and logistics. Research Focus: The partnership emphasizes data-driven decision-making frameworks to improve warehousing, supply chain, and logistics planning. Leadership Statement: - Prof. Manoj Choudhary, Vice Chancellor of GSV, highlighted the university’s mission to shape India’s logistics future through specialized talent development and rigorous research. - He emphasized that Amazon’s industry insights will support innovation and informed planning in logistics and transportation. Institutional Background: - GSV was established as a Central University in 2022 under the Ministry of Railways. - It covers the entire transportation sector: railways, highways, ports, aviation, maritime, shipping, inland waterways, urban transport, and logistics networks. - The university’s Chancellor is Sh. Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & IT.
