Sports Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya leads nationwide 85th edition of Fit India Sundays on Cycle

Hon’ble Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports Dr Mansukh Mandaviya led the nationwide 85th edition of Fit India Sundays on Cycle from here in Gujarat with a collective pledge from participants to stay away from substance abuse towards ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’ with the slogan ‘Say yes to fitness, Say NO to drugs.’

Nationwide Movement:
Led by Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya in Gujarat, with the theme “Say yes to fitness, Say NO to drugs” under the Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign.

Mass Participation:
Over 30 lakh people have joined since the initiative began in December 2024. The July 2026 edition saw cycling events across 10,000+ locations nationwide.

Delhi Mega Event:
- Venue: Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium.
- Activities: Yoga, Zumba, 5 km cycling around India Gate & Kartavya Path, plus game zones with carrom, chess, ludo, badminton, tug of war, and obstacle races.
- Pledge: More than 1,000 participants pledged to live drug‑free lives.

Special Guests
- Siddharth Nigam (actor, gymnast) – urged youth to replace harmful addictions with “fitness ka dose, aadhe ghante roz.”
- Gurveer Singh (international squash player) – praised the initiative and highlighted India’s 39‑medal performance at the Commonwealth Games.
- Other ambassadors included Narendra Kumar (IRS, Fit India Ambassador) and Meenal Pathak (Zumba instructor).

Impact
- Promotes fitness as a positive alternative to substance abuse.
- Strengthens the Prime Minister’s Fit India Movement.
- Conducted in collaboration with Cycling Federation of India, Raahgiri Foundation, and MY Bharat, across SAI centres, Khelo India hubs, and Fit India clubs nationwide.

This edition shows how fitness campaigns can double as social movements, inspiring both health and responsibility among India’s youth.
