Indian Passport Fees Hiked: Check New Passport Charges Effective from 1 July 2026

Key Changes
- Fees revised under the Passports (Amendment) Rules, 2026, replacing Schedule IV of the 1980 Rules.
- Applies to fresh applications, renewals, Tatkaal services, lost/damaged replacements, PCC, surrender certificates, certificates of identity, Global Entry verification, and other services.
- Increase ranges from 40% to 70% depending on service type.

Fresh/Reissue Passport (Normal Fees)
- Adults (36 pages): ₹2,500 (previously ₹1,500)
- Adults (60 pages): ₹3,500 (previously ₹2,000)
- Minors (36 pages): ₹1,750 (previously ₹1,000)

Tatkaal Passport (Expedited Fees)
- Adults (36 pages): ₹5,000 (previously ₹3,500)
- Adults (60 pages): ₹6,000 (previously ₹4,000)
- Minors (36 pages): ₹4,250 (previously ₹3,000)

Lost or Damaged Passport (Replacement Fees)
- Adults (36 pages): ₹5,000 normal / ₹7,500 Tatkaal
- Adults (60 pages): ₹6,000 normal / ₹8,500 Tatkaal
- Minors (36 pages): ₹4,250 normal / ₹6,750 Tatkaal

Other Passport-Related Services
- Police Clearance Certificate (PCC): ₹750 (previously ₹500)
- Surrender Certificate: ₹750 (previously ₹500)
- Global Entry Program Verification: ₹750 (previously ₹500)
- Certificate of Identity: ₹1,000 (previously ₹500)

Applications Abroad (US Dollar Fees)
- Fresh/Reissue Passport (36 pages – Adult): $125 normal / $250 Tatkaal
- Fresh/Reissue Passport (60 pages – Adult): $175 normal / $300 Tatkaal
- Lost/Damaged Passport (36 pages – Adult): $250 normal / $375 Tatkaal
- PCC, Surrender, Global Entry Verification: $40 each
- Certificate of Identity: $50
- Emergency Certificate: $15

Validity & Discounts
- Adult passports: 10 years validity unchanged.
- Minor passports: 5 years or until age 18.
- 10% discount continues for fresh applications by:
- Children up to 8 years
- Senior citizens above 60 years
- Discount not applicable for renewals.
