It houses the Hyakudan Kaidan (Hundred-Step Staircase), a designated Tangible Cultural Property. Phased Reopening: Rooms and restaurants will resume operations in mid-2026, ahead of the full LXR debut. Luxury Expansion in Japan: This will be LXR’s second property in Japan after ROKU Kyoto, with additional Hilton luxury projects planned for Hiroshima and Niseko. Property Features: - 60 guest rooms, including suites over 100 sqm. - Five dining destinations, spa, fitness center. - 5,700 sqm of meeting and event space. - Prime location in Meguro, near the cherry blossom-lined Meguro River. Ownership & Investment: Brookfield owns the property and is investing heavily in redevelopment, while Hilton will manage operations. Strategic Significance - Strengthens Hilton’s luxury footprint in Japan, where demand is rising but supply remains constrained. - Positions LXR as a cultural luxury brand, with each property deeply tied to local heritage and design. - Adds to Hilton’s global LXR portfolio, which includes recent openings like Sandblu Santorini and Cameo Beverly Hills. This rebranding is a fascinating blend of Japanese tradition and modern luxury hospitality, giving Hilton a flagship presence in Tokyo’s competitive luxury market.
