Indian Hotels Company (IHCL),guided by its ESG+ framework of Paathya, reaffirms its commitment to advancing responsible hospitality. Conceived as a path to positive change, Paathya integrates IHCL’s initiatives across clean energy, water stewardship, circular operations, waste reduction, green mobility and verifiable sustainability standards. Framework: Guided by its ESG+ program Paathya, IHCL integrates sustainability across clean energy, water stewardship, circular operations, waste reduction, and green mobility. Renewable energy: Already sourcing 41% of electricity from renewables, with a goal of 50% by 2030. Green mobility: Installed 386 EV charging stations across 171 locations. Waste management: Runs 108 organic waste composting plants and 85 in-house water bottling plants, cutting reliance on single-use plastics. Water stewardship: 54% of wastewater recycled; community projects include watershed restoration, rainwater harvesting, and revival of traditional water bodies in Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. Target: 50 lakh cubic metres of water recharge and savings in three years. 2030 goals: - 100% elimination of single-use plastics - 100% wastewater reuse - All hotels certified to global sustainability standards IHCL’s EVP of HR, Gaurav Pokhariyal, noted that sustainability is now shaping how hospitality operates, aligning business performance with environmental stewardship and the expectations of conscious travelers.
