IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced that Hotel Mount Fuji will become the third property in Japan to join its Vignette Collection. Location & Heritage: Originally opened in 1963, the 150-room hotel sits atop Mount Odeyama at 1,100 meters, offering uninterrupted views of Mount Fuji and overlooking Lake Yamanaka. It was purpose-built as Japan’s pioneering vacation hotel for viewing Mount Fuji. Renovation & Reopening: The property will undergo extensive renovations before reopening as Hotel Mount Fuji, Vignette Collection. Portfolio Expansion: It joins RIGHA Royal Hotel Osaka and The Windsor Hotel TOYA, strengthening IHG’s luxury & lifestyle footprint in Japan. Experiences for Guests: Visitors can enjoy hot springs, saunas, dining options, a swimming pool, golf, lake cruises, and cultural attractions like Oshino Hakkai. Seasonal highlights include stargazing and the mesmerizing “sea of clouds.” Accessibility: About two hours by car from Tokyo, or 2 hours 20 minutes by bus from Shinjuku, with a hotel shuttle service available. IHG leaders emphasized that this partnership with FUJI KYUKO Co., Ltd marks a milestone in expanding their luxury offerings in Japan, while FUJI KYUKO highlighted the hotel’s legacy and its new chapter under the Vignette Collection brand.
