In celebration of the state visit of Vietnam’s General Secretary and President To Lam to China, at the invitation of Chinese General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, the Investment Cooperation Conference between Sovico Group and Chinese businesses and partners was successfully held in Beijing. Vietjet’s Five New Routes to China - New Connections: - Hanoi – Hangzhou - Hanoi – Enshi - Hanoi – Huangshan - Ho Chi Minh City – Guilin - Ho Chi Minh City – Huangshan - Already Operational (April 2026): Hanoi–Enshi and Ho Chi Minh City–Guilin. - These routes strengthen links between key economic, cultural, and tourism hubs in both countries. Strategic Context - Announced during Vietnam’s President To Lam’s state visit to China and the Investment Cooperation Conference in Beijing. - Vietjet has already operated 131 routes between Vietnam and China (2014–2025), with nearly 70,000 flights and 14.5 million passengers, connecting 8 Vietnamese airports with 55 Chinese airports. - Expansion aligns with the Vietnam–China Tourism Cooperation Year, boosting trade, investment, and people-to-people exchanges. Partnerships & Cooperation - Conference brought together nearly 200 leading Chinese corporations (COMAC, Huawei, China Construction Bank, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, major metro and railway groups). - Agreements focused on urban railways, smart infrastructure, logistics, aviation finance, and engineering. - Sovico Group (Vietjet’s parent) emphasized building bridges for regional development, digital transformation, and sustainable aviation growth. Recognition - COMAC University awarded Vietjet Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao the title of Distinguished Professor for her contributions to aviation R&D and international cooperation. This expansion positions Vietjet not just as a low-cost carrier, but as a strategic aviation bridge between Vietnam and China, reinforcing economic and cultural ties while opening new tourism flows.
