Etihad Airways has announced that it will expand its Abu Dhabi–Kabul route to daily flights starting 1 May 2026, just six weeks after the inaugural service on 20 March. The decision comes in response to strong passenger demand, both from point‑to‑point travelers and those connecting through Etihad’s wider global network.
Aircraft & Capacity: Operated by Airbus A320s with 8 Business and 150 Economy seats.
Connectivity: Passengers can connect via Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport to destinations across Europe and North America, including London, Frankfurt, Charlotte, Toronto, and Washington.
Community Impact: The UAE hosts one of the largest Afghan communities in the Gulf. Daily flights will strengthen family ties, trade, and cultural exchange.
Strategic Growth: Etihad’s Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer emphasized that the expansion reflects a strategy of deploying capacity in response to market demand, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s role as a global gateway.
Flight Schedule (from 1 May 2026)
This move positions Etihad as a key connector for the Afghan diaspora and businesses, while also enhancing Abu Dhabi’s role as a hub for travel across the Middle East, South Asia, and beyond.
