China Eastern Airlines is gearing up for a major expansion in the 2026 summer–autumn flight season. Fleet & Capacity - Operating with 823 passenger aircraft, including 14 domestically produced C919 jetliners. - Over 950 routes planned, with daily flights exceeding 3,200 (a 1.3% increase year-on-year). International Expansion - Weekly international and regional departures will rise to 1,400. - Europe-bound flights: 160+ per week (up 24% YoY). - Southeast Asia-bound flights: 500+ per week (up 13% YoY). - New routes include Xi’an–Vienna, Shanghai–Tashkent, Adelaide, Cheongju, and Tbilisi. - Summer vacation additions: Shanghai–Stockholm, Dublin, Zurich, Mumbai, Ulaanbaatar. Domestic & Hub Strategy - Focused on strengthening connectivity at hubs in Shanghai, Beijing, Xi’an, Kunming, and Chengdu. - “Air Express” premium service network expanding to 47 domestic routes and 4 international routes. Passenger Experience - Complimentary in-flight Wi-Fi across all classes on wide-body aircraft for routes to Australia, New Zealand, and nearby regions.
