Air India announces key enhancements to Maharaja Club

Air India has announced significant upgrades to its Maharaja Club, designed to deliver greater value, flexibility, and recognition to members.

Lower Points Requirement
- ~30% fewer points for Economy redemptions on 80% of domestic routes and 75% of international routes.
- Business Class redemptions reduced by up to 35% on select international routes.
- Example: Delhi–San Francisco now 40,000 points (down from 77,000).

Simplified Flexibility
- Tier‑based free cancellation/rescheduling windows:
- Platinum: up to 2 hours before departure
- Gold: up to 7 days before departure
- Silver: up to 30 days before departure
- Points refunded for cancelled upgrades.

Faster Tier Progression
- Reduced flight count thresholds:
- Platinum: 60 flights (was 90)
- Gold: 45 flights (was 60)
- Silver: 20 flights (was 30)

Companion Privileges
- Platinum & Gold members’ co‑passengers (same PNR) now enjoy priority check‑in, boarding, baggage handling, and lounge access.

Quicker Points Credit
- Maharaja Points now credited within 2 hours of flight completion, including Star Alliance partner flights.
