Joining GSTC - Dusit Hotels and Resorts has become a member of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), a leading non-profit that sets global standards and fosters collaboration in sustainable tourism. - This step strengthens Dusit’s commitment to embedding responsible practices across its worldwide operations. Dusit’s Global Footprint - Founded in 1949, Dusit International now manages 290 hotels, resorts, and luxury villas in 18 countries, under nine brands. - Its sustainability program, Tree of Life, aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on climate action, responsible consumption, and community engagement. Key Initiatives - Energy & Emissions: Property-level energy management systems, solar installations in Maldives, Guam, Kyoto, and Lubi Plantation Resort. - Water Stewardship: Conservation measures, wastewater treatment, and reuse for landscaping. - Plastic Reduction: Refillable amenities, reusable bottles, and sustainable packaging. - Food Waste: Minimization during preparation, redistribution through local partners, and composting for gardens. - Community Engagement: Programs like Dusit Smiles with Operation Smile Thailand, funding surgeries for over 750 children.
