Employees design a Lufthansa aircraft for the anniversary

In the anniversary year of 2026, Lufthansa is taking to the skies with yet another very special aircraft: an Airbus A321neo featuring a special livery that tells deeply personal stories of the airline's employees.

Special Anniversary Aircraft
- Lufthansa is celebrating its 100th founding anniversary in 2026 with a unique Airbus A321neo livery.
- The design, under the motto “Made by many. Remembered by all,” features stories and motifs contributed by employees.

Employee Contributions
- Staff across the Lufthansa Group submitted personal anecdotes and ideas.
- A jury selected 20, and employees voted for their favorites.
- 12 motifs are now displayed on the aircraft named “Hamm.”
- Examples include:
- A drawing of two flight attendants who met while skiing in Vancouver.
- A Lufthansa Technik design of interlocking hands symbolizing teamwork.
- Historical images, such as Lufthansa’s first two female pilots.

Design Details
- The motifs are integrated into the XXL crane design across the fuselage.
- Each motif has a QR code linking to background stories.
- More employee motifs will be added throughout the year.

Anniversary Fleet
- Several aircraft already carry special liveries: A320neo, A350-900, A380, Boeing 747-8, and Boeing 787-9.
- An A350-1000 will join later in 2026.

This initiative highlights Lufthansa’s focus on employee recognition and storytelling, making the anniversary celebration not just corporate, but deeply personal.
