A pilot for Skilling and training of guides is welcome, but totally ignoring an allocation for promotion of inbound tourism is not ideal in the short term. The Budget allocation for Tourism is extremely low and falls disappointingly short of the PM’s vision for a USD 3 trillion tourism economy under Viksit Bharat 2047. Reduction of TCS to 2% on overseas holiday tours is a welcome move for outbound tourism.
