Air India and Singapore Airlines sign commercial cooperation framework agreement; work towards joint business agreement

Air India and Singapore Airlines (SIA) have signed a commercial cooperation framework agreement, which will pave the way for them to deepen their long-standing partnership through definitive joint business agreements.

Framework Agreement Signed:
On 16 January 2026 in Mumbai, Air India CEO Campbell Wilson and SIA CEO Goh Choon Phong formalized the cooperation framework.

Joint Business Plans:
The agreement sets the stage for definitive joint business agreements, subject to regulatory approvals.

Enhanced Connectivity:
Focus on improving flight connections between India and Singapore, offering customers more route options and seamless travel.

Unified Booking:
Customers will be able to book flights across both airlines under a single journey, simplifying travel.

Schedule Coordination:
Closer alignment of flight schedules to improve convenience and reduce layover times.

Corporate Travel Benefits:
Potential expansion of cross-participation in corporate travel programs, enhancing offerings for business travelers.

Frequent Flyer Perks:
Plans to progressively enhance privileges for members of Air India’s Maharaja Club and SIA’s KrisFlyer, beyond existing Star Alliance benefits.

Global Scope:
Cooperation may extend beyond India and Singapore to other markets, strengthening both airlines’ hubs and meeting demand for global connectivity.

Existing Codeshare:
Currently, the airlines codeshare on 61 points in 20 countries, following a major expansion in October 2024.
