Princess Cruises made a dazzling debut at the 137th Rose Parade® on New Year’s Day 2026 with its spectacular “Together in the Magic of Alaska” float, celebrating the upcoming inaugural Alaska season of its newest ship, the Star Princess. Key Highlights of the Float - Theme & Design: Inspired by Alaska’s breathtaking landscapes, the float showcased glaciers, rugged coastlines, and vibrant wildflowers. - Floral Artistry: Over 300,000 flowers and natural materials were used, including silverleaf protea, coconut, blue statice, lunaria, and Alaska’s state flower, the Forget‑Me‑Not (Blue Tweedia). - Wildlife Animation: Whales, sea otters, eagles, bears, and moose came to life through gentle motion, adding dynamic storytelling. - Size: Approximately 55 feet long and 21 feet high, designed and built by Artistic Entertainment Services. Entertainment & Nostalgia - Performers danced to a reimagined version of “The Love Boat” theme song, honoring Princess Cruises’ iconic role in the beloved TV series. - Four Princess teammates rode the float, representing the company’s 25,000 crew members worldwide. Star Princess & Alaska Season - The float highlighted features of the second Sphere Class ship, including The Dome (a futuristic relaxation and entertainment space) and the striking sphere-shaped Piazza. - The 2026 Alaska program is Princess’ largest ever, with eight ships, 180 departures, and 19 destinations. - Star Princess will sail weekly seven-day Inside Passage cruises roundtrip from Seattle, May 3 – September 19, 2026.
