The 5th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Culture and Arts Festival opened on September 16, 2025

The fifth Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Culture and Arts Festival officially opened on September 16, 2025, at the Guangzhou Opera House, marking the start of a month-long celebration of regional and international arts.

- Governments of Guangdong, Hong Kong SAR, and Macao SAR

Scope:
- Events across 11 citiesin the Greater Bay Area
- Over 100 performances, 19 exhibitions, and 150+ community activities

- Arts in the Bay – Performance series
- Resonance in Arts – Art lectures
- Shared Aesthetics – Exhibitions
- Art in Daily Life – Public engagement activities
- Radiance of Arts – Performing arts fair

Notable Performances
- Opening Concert:Symphony of the Greater Bay Area featuring seven original symphonic works

- International Acts:
- La Traviata by the Greek National Opera
- Swan Lake by Matthew Bourne’s all-male ensemble
- Eugene Onegin and Uncle Vanya by Russia’s Vakhtangov Theatre
- Molière – French musical debuting in October
- Musical theatre stars including Brad Little performing 26 classics

- Chinese Productions:
- Confucius – Dance drama
- The Yellow Storm – Modern drama
- A Dream of Red Mansions – Yue Opera adaptation
- Samsui Women – Guangdong Yue Opera Theatre
- I Like You – Fusion of Yingge Dance and musical theatre

International Performing Arts Fair
- “Radiance of Arts” Fair:
- Held from September 25–28
- Features 300 institutionsfrom 20 countries
- Showcases nearly 1,000 productions
