Emirates honours the 54th UAE Eid Al Etihad with sky-high celebrations

Emirates is marking the 54th UAE National Day (Eid Al Etihad) with a series of festive celebrations both in the air and on the ground. Here are the highlights from their announcement:

Inflight Celebrations
- Sweet Treats for All Passengers: Customers flying from Dubai on 2–3 December will receive Emirati-inspired desserts in mini gift boxes.
- First & Business Class: fig frangipane and gahwa tart
- Premium Economy: pistachio rahash tart and gahwa tart
- Economy: batheeth with white chocolate and pistachios
- Onboard Lounge Delights: Arabic coffee paired with aseeda cake, date & cardamom cheesecake, saffron bundt cake, and more.
- Cabin Ambience: Aircraft interiors will be illuminated in the colors of the UAE flag.

Cultural Entertainment
- Emirates’ award-winning ice system will feature:
- 71+ Arabic movies, 32 Arabic TV shows, and Emirati series like Al Boom and Sawalef Yadouh
- Arabic documentaries such as Al Emarat: Masiret Al Ezza’ W Al Enjaz
- 15 Arabic podcasts and 151 Khaleeji music albums, spotlighting Emirati artists like Hussain Al Jassmi and Fayez Al Saeed

Lounges in Dubai
- First Class Lounges: Traditional Emirati dishes like chicken machbous, lamb ouzi, harees, plus desserts such as Umm Ali spheres, kunafa pistachio, and Emirati luqaimat.
- Business Class Lounges: Lamb ouzi, chicken majboos, and desserts including Arabic coffee delice and burnt gahwa chocolate tarts.
- Special Touch: Homemade ice cream in flavors like baklava and Arabic coffee with dates.

Ground Celebrations
- At Emirates HQ, festivities included:
- Cake-cutting ceremony attended by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum and Sir Tim Clark
- Performances by Raffles World Academy students (choir, band, dance ensemble)
- Heritage village with spice displays, pottery, henna artistry, and fabric exhibits
- Innovative recycling booth by Emirates Engineering, turning used paper into notebooks
