Festival Highlights - Duration: 12 days (Dec 24 – Jan 4). - Venue: Kanakakkunnu Palace grounds. - Theme: “Illuminating Joy, Spreading Harmony” – celebrating Kerala’s communal unity and festive spirit. - Inauguration: By Tourism Minister Shri P. A. Mohamed Riyas, with officials from the Tourism Department and DTPC. Light Show Attractions - Immersive walkways lined with oversized glowing floral and leaf structures in purple and white. - Giant Dragon centerpiece in red and gold – a major thematic highlight. - Illuminated sleigh with reindeer at the palace entrance, welcoming 2026. - Heritage streets and structures across the city lit up as part of the annual Light Festival. Flower Displays - Over 35,000 pots of flowering plants curated by JNTBGRI, Palode. - Chrysanthemum festival: 8,000+ blooms showcased. - Wide variety of dahlias, marigolds, petunias, zinnias, daisies, anthuriums, lilies, tulips, and local flowers. - Competitions and expos in flower decoration for adults and students. - Visitors can also purchase plants and flowers from nursery stalls.
